Health and environment

We study and research the quality of surface water and groundwater

At Anufra, we are specialists in conducting studies and reports on the quality and impact of surface water and groundwater. We provide support and solutions to the different sectors involved.

Our extensive experience in both field and office work endorses us in a sector that is becoming increasingly important. Water is a scarce natural resource that is essential for life and economic activity. Anufra provides reliable solutions with clear answers.

HYDROCHEMICAL MODELLING

Through studies and simulations of how complex systems relate to each other, and by obtaining physical, chemical, and hydrological data, we can determine the consequences and the environmental impact of a project in a given area.

Furthermore, we can determine the chemical, physical, and biological characteristics of water through laboratory analysis, which determines how the water can be used.

Using mathematical models, we can predict how the substances released into the water will behave.

The aim is to protect public health and to limit the environmental effects that may be produced by the different pollutants, in order to preserve the quality of the natural environment.

We follow these steps:

  • Topo-bathymetric survey of the study area.
  • Define potential sources of pollutants and their concentrations.
  • Address the hydrodynamic characteristics of the site.
  • Simulate the release of pollutants and study their behaviour over time.
  • Analyse the results and interpret them.

DESIGN OF DRINKING, WASTEWATER, AND INDUSTRIAL WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS

We know how essential water is for life as well as for certain sectors, which is why we are experts in the field of control networks for drinking water, wastewater, and industrial water.

Using this as a starting point, we study the technical and economic feasibility of using certain processes to treat, purify, and recycle water for later use.

Our aim is to:

  • Create a profile of domestic wastewater for each zone, according to its ecological characteristics and the population of the area.
  • Provide technical recommendations for the drafting of wastewater plans.
  • Define the main operation and maintenance tasks of these mechanisms.
  • Estimate what the process capacity of the site will be.
  • Establish a methodology for what will be the most appropriate line of treatment in a given situation.

We conform to the parameters that are in line with those named in the different Royal Decrees, in order to comply with the law.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDIES

These are technical and interdisciplinary studies, carried out by specialists in different areas, in order to obtain a more detailed description of the project. These studies allow us to determine the potential impact on the environment.

Our aim is to:

  • Provide tools for measuring any significant environmental impact as a consequence of the intervention, while proposing measures to mitigate and control the impact
  • Compliance with the Regulations.

INVENTORIES AND SAMPLING OF WATER POINTS

Inventory campaigns and sampling of water points;

(1) underground (wells, piezometers, springs, underwater mines)
(2) surface water (rivers, lakes, drains, canals, reservoirs, and dams)
(3) marine (coastal or deep sea).

The campaigns are tailored to the needs of each project, allowing us to obtain the basic characteristics of the sites visited and sampled.

ON-SITE ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

Monitoring is the process of analysing the physical variables and the characteristics of groundwater and surface water. This allows us to gain a highly accurate understanding of hydrogeological and hydrodynamic processes over time.

We work with a number of control networks, where we obtain data about water level, conductivity, pressure, and temperature, which allow us to study not only the aquifer, but also other parameters such as soil temperature and humidity.

Environmental monitoring helps avoid unforeseen environmental impact, as well as ensuring compliance with current legislation.
