We study and research groundwater
Anufra’s team is specialised in the study, analysis, and modelling of alluvial and fractured aquifers, which allows us to offer support and real solutions in engineering projects and civil works.
Our extensive experience in both field and office work endorses us in a sector that is becoming increasingly important. Water is a scarce natural resource that is crucial for life and economic activity, for which Anufra is able to provide trustworthy solutions with clear answers.
HYDROGEOLOGICAL STUDIES
We are specialists in carrying out large-scale hydrogeological studies and appendices, for both basic projects and infrastructure construction projects such as roads, tunnels, subways, pipelines, and mining, studying all aspects of the aquifers, from conducting field campaigns to interpreting the results. We define the hydrogeological characteristics and parameters of the aquifer including its behaviour, flow lines, piezometry, saline intrusion phenomena, and contamination plumes, among others.
- Inventory campaigns of water wells and piezometers: measuring groundwater levels and on-site parameter measurements (temperature, pH, conductivity, nitrates) and laboratory tests.
- Pumping and recovery tests
- Laboratory tests
- Piezometry and flow lines
- Water balance
- Study of the processes of saline intrusion
- Numerical modelling of groundwater flow prior to new infrastructure and after modelling future infrastructure.
- Vulnerability assessment of aquifers and water wells due to water chemistry: nitrates, pesticides, etc. (DRASTIC, COP, etc.)
VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENTS
We perform hydrochemical and hydrogeological studies specific to the vulnerability of aquifer systems, in order to detect possible contamination or damage; nitrates, salinity, cones from overpumping, etc. These studies provide a solid basis for the subsequent drafting of reports and decision-making.
GROUNDWATER DEWATERING PROJECTS
Carrying out hydrogeological studies and proposals for well field design for the temporary dewatering of groundwater on building works or underground infrastructures (buildings with basements, subways, tunnels, railways, mining), according to the needs of the project and complying with the regulations defined by the current legislation.
Also:
- Hydrogeological studies and groundwater dewatering models
- Pumping and recovery tests
- Laboratory tests
- Design of the pumping and decanting systems
- Design of infiltration systems (wells, ditches, ponds)
- Environmental monitoring during groundwater dewatering in accordance with government regulations.
- Water tightness tests of the screens and adjustment of the proposed design, prior to the start of dewatering.
- Assistance in obtaining permits
WATER WELL REHABILITATION OR NEW CATCHMENT PROJECTS
We study groundwater and its possible exploitation with various systems of analysis and studies. We guarantee high-quality construction and subsequent development, with systematic controls for quality and performance.
DATA INTEGRATION USING GIS
We use Geographic Information System (GIS) for project implementation and for data interpretation in the field, by means of georeferenced maps.
ON-SITE MONITORING AND FOLLOW-UP
Monitoring is the process of analysing the physical variables and characteristics of groundwater and surface water. It enables us to gain a highly accurate understanding of hydrogeological and hydrodynamic processes over time.
We work with various control networks, which provide us with information about water level, conductivity, pressure and temperature, allowing us to study other parameters aside from the aquifer, such as soil temperature and humidity.
